| Soz aims barbs at BJP | | | Early Times Report RS Pura, Apr 8: Taking potshots at the BJP, state Congress president and Union Minister Prof Saifuddin Soz today said that vote for Congress is necessary to defeat the politics of hate and opportunism. Referring to historical role of Congress party and its secular ideals, Prof. Soz said that long back the first Prime Minister of the country and great visionary Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru had visualized that the nation has danger not from the external forces but from within itself, which he was referring to communal forces in the country. Soz was addressing series of election meetings at at Brijnagar, Narhi, R.S.Pura and Nai-Basti-Gulabgarh in R.S.Pura and Suchetgarh assembly segments. PCC Chief said that India has emerged a strong nation in the World and it is now in competition with big powers like United States. It is because of the direction and leadership of the Congress party which led the nation on the path of progress and prosperity. Congress has the experience and capability to take the nation forward in all directions and the interests of nation are safe and people look for a bright future under the dynamic guidance of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and able leadership of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Targeting BJP he said, those leveling baseless charge against Congress of being soft towards militancy, bowed before the militants and released the most hardcore terrorist during the Kandhar episode. He said that Congress is firm in dealing militancy but innocents can not be made to suffer or punished without recourse to the established legal system. Prof. Soz said that those pursuing the politics of ‘opportunism’, ‘division’ and ‘hate’ and trying to create wedge in the society can not succeed, as the people have firm belief in glorious traditions of secularism of our country and state. The opportunism of BJP stood exposed as their candidate in the recent past, had been saying that he had no affiliations and ambition in politics but now he is eyeing for Lok Sabha seat. But the people have understood their game and would give a crushing defeat to such politics. He said National Conference and Congress have entered into accord for the benefit and welfare of the people and it would be in the larger interest of the people of the state. He said that both parties have entered to seat sharing and would tirelessly work together for the success of coalition candidates on all six seats in order to ensure the defeat of communal and negative forces. Urging the party workers to carry the policies and programs of the Congress party and the message of its leadership Sonia Gandhi and achievements of UPA government led by Dr. Manmohan Singh to every nook and corner of the state, Prof. Soz quoted “Elama Iqbal” Dil Ki Awaaz Nikalti Hai, Taqat Rakhti Hai, Par Nahian Magar Parwaz Rakhti Hai”. Speaking on the occasion former Deputy Chief Minister and Senior Congress leader Mangat Ram Sharma said that BJP has no agenda for the welfare and development of the state and they have exploited the people in the name of religion and region for enhancing their political interests. He appealed people to ensure victory of Madan Lal Sharma to contribute for the formation of stable government at the centre. R.S.Chib-MLC in his address cautioned the people against the communal and divisive forces and said that Congress has the experience and capable leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi to lead the nation on the path of progress and prosperity. He said that Congress has the history of sacrifices for the unity and integrity of the nation and communal forces can not keep the nation united. He referred to the achievements of the Congress Govt. led Government at the Centre and the State and also contribution of Madan Lal Sharma as MP and appealed to the people to ensure the victory of Congress candidate by huge margin.
