GDC Ramnagar Hosts Online Symposium on National Youth Day

Ramnagar, Jan 12: The Department of History at Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar organized an online symposium to celebrate National Youth Day and honor Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary.
The event aimed to inspire students with Swami Vivekananda’s vision for youth and their role in nation-building.
Prof. Manmohan Singh, Head of the History Department, delivered the formal welcome address, outlining the purpose and significance of the symposium. Faculty members and students shared insights on Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy, emphasizing self-confidence, discipline, education, and youth’s moral responsibility in shaping India’s future.
Over ten speakers presented their views on Swami Vivekananda’s life and contributions. Vinak Singh, Gagan Singh, and Ajay Singh secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively, while all participants received appreciation certificates.
The event concluded with Dr. Zahid Ahmed Mir reflecting on the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in modern times, urging the youth to embody strength, self-reliance, and social service.
The symposium was held under the guidance of Dr. Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal of GDC Ramnagar, and the supervision of Prof. Manmohan Singh.
