GDC Darhal, Celebrates National Youth Day with Enthusiasm

Darhal, Jan 12: The Govt. Degree College, Darhal, celebrated National Youth Day as part of the Viksit Bharat @2047 initiative, with the theme “Youth Empowerment for Nation Building.” The event aimed to inspire and empower students through various engaging activities.
A major highlight was the painting and face-painting competition, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from 30 students divided into four groups. Group B participants Azhra Karim, Sabia Shakoor, and Rabia Kosser emerged victorious, securing the first position. Group A students Sneha Shafqat, Samreena Kosser, and Aashiyana Fareed, along with Group C’s Saima Kosser, Hasina Wajib, and Afsana Firdous, shared the second spot. The third position went to Group D students Sobia Kosser, Haleema Parveen, Uzma Khatoon, and Shazia Tabassum.
Interactive symposia and discussions on socially relevant topics further enriched the celebration. These sessions fostered critical thinking and provided a platform for students to share ideas and propose solutions to societal challenges. Adding to the event’s significance was a special live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address on National Youth Day, accompanied by a mega celebration broadcast.
Principal Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza commended the students and faculty for their dedication and efforts, which made the event a grand success. Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, the NSS Coordinator, played a pivotal role in organizing the celebrations. The performances were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Dr. M. Saleem Wani, Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Prof. Anzar Ahmed, Dr. Atta Ul Rehman Malik, and Dr. Iqbal Ahmed, who praised the participants for their creativity and enthusiasm.
The celebration underscored the college’s commitment to holistic student development by fostering creativity, leadership, and social responsibility. It highlighted the youth’s pivotal role as architects of a vibrant and progressive India.
