| Dar to take problems of hailstorm affected with CM, ministers for early redressal | | Returns from Common Wealth, Saudi Arabia, meets people | |
Srinagar, September 22 – Chairman Legislative Council Mr. Abdul Rashid Dar who returned from Common Wealth tour and after performing Umra at Saudi Arabia today received large number of deputations from different places who during the interaction with the Chairman brought to his notice various problems confronting them. Many deputations apprised the Chairman of the devastation caused by the recent floods especially in Anantnag district where heavy damage has caused to the standing crops, property and live stocks. A deputation from Shangus comprising over a hundred people brought to the notice of yesterday’s severe hailstorm damaging paddy crops and fruits in the area. While expressing his deep sorrow over the flood devastation and hailstorm, Mr. Dar assured the people that he would take up the rehabilitation and compensation issue with the concerned departments and stress for relief to the affected people. Mr. Dar urged the administration to visit the Shangus area and ascertain the magnitude of hailstorm damage to crops and property. He said the administration should take every step to reach out the people show quick response to their needs. He said that on return of Chief Minister from the tour of USA and Europe, he will take up the issue of relief and rehabilitation of affected people with him. He also assured the deputations, that their problems would also be taken up with the concerned ministers, so that the administration would further geared up and no affected remain unattended. |
