SAMBA, Jan 13: In its ongoing drive against bovine smuggling, Samba Police successfully thwarted an illegal bovine transportation attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal. The operation led to the rescue of five bovines and the seizure of the vehicle used for the illegal activity. A team from Police Station Ghagwal, led by SHO PS Ghagwal, intercepted a Bolero pickup (registration number JK08N-4170) during a vehicle check at Naka Rai Morh Ghagwal. Upon inspection, five bovines were discovered tied in a cruel manner, being transported without valid permission.
The rescued bovines were shifted to a safer location, and a case under FIR No. 05/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Ghagwal. Further investigation is underway. Samba Police reaffirmed its commitment to combating bovine smuggling and ensuring the welfare of animals, urging citizens to report any suspicious activities. |
