Vehicle lifter arrested; stolen bike, scooty recovered police

UDHAMPUR, Jan 14: A written complaint was lodged by Sunil Singh S/O Padam Dev Singh R/O Barrian, Tehsil and District Udhampur. He reported that he had parked his Bullet bike at Slathia Chowk, outside his shop, but upon returning, he found that his bike had been stolen by unknown thieves. On this, a case was registered under FIR No. 21/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS at Police Station Udhampur.
In response to the theft, a special team was constituted by SHO PS Udhampur to apprehend the culprits. Acting swiftly, the team gathered information through reliable sources and used technical assistance to identify and arrest the suspect Rohit Atri @ Nittu S/O Romesh Kumar R/O Dalsar, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the said theft. On his disclosure, the said stolen Bullet bike and a scooty bearing registration number JK19 A4162, which was also stolen on 29.12.2024 were recovered from his possession. Further investigation of the case is ongoing.
