EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Apr 9- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that entry of well-versed and experienced Members into the Legislative Council would ensure lively and extensive deliberations on public issues in the Sessions to come.
Welcoming the new entrants during the day-long session of Legislative Council here today, the Chief Minister said the House of Elders is an ideal platform for the Members to raise public concerns and issues through discussions and deliberations. He said that due to Lok Sabha elections, the Budget Session was reduced to a brief Vote-on-Account’ and Members could not get ample time to raise the issues of public concern. He, however, said that after the Parliamentary elections, a full-length Session will be held and Members will have adequate opportunity to question the government on different welfare issues.
