Crackdown on illegal mining: 7 vehicles seized by Jammu police

JAMMU, Jan 15: Jammu Police intensified its crackdown on illegal mining, detaining seven vehicles loaded with illegally extracted minerals during a series of surprise operations in the rural areas of District Jammu. Operation Details: BPP Gajansoo: Seized four vehicles, including: Two tippers (JK02DA/9480 and JK02CP/9318) loaded with Bajri and screened sand. Two dumpers (PB05AB-9660 and PB07BG/2360) carrying RBM without proper documentation (Forms A). PP Pounichak: Confiscated two vehicles: A tractor (JK11A/2740) and a tipper (JK02BC/7595) loaded with sand without Forms A. PP Sidhra: Detained one tractor trolley without a number plate, bearing chassis number MBNAK49AHRTE29565, loaded with sand and lacking necessary documents. The seized vehicles have been reported to the District Mining Officer for further legal action. SP Rural Jammu's Statement: SP Rural Jammu reaffirmed the police's commitment to safeguarding public property and combating illegal mining activities in the region. This operation underscores the authorities' zero-tolerance policy towards violators exploiting natural resources unlawfully.
