1/15/2025 9:54:26 PM
Early Times Report
AKHNOOR, Jan 15: BJP leader and member of the District Development Council, Pandit Suresh Sharma, today launched development projects worth Rs 30 lakh in Panchayat Maira Mandrian, located in Block Maira Mandrian. The development initiatives include the construction of passenger sheds, platforms, lanes, drains, and water tanks in the villages of Mund, Maira Jagir, Rehni, Jagwal, and Mandrian, along with tile work at the High School in Maira Mandrian. Addressing the gathering, Suresh Sharma expressed his commitment to accelerating development across all panchayats. He emphasized that significant infrastructure projects are being carried out under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, bringing about transformative changes to Jammu and Kashmir. These projects include the ongoing construction of National Highways, bridges, tunnels, and railway infrastructure, all of which are poised to boost connectivity and promote regional development.
One of the most notable projects that Sharma highlighted was the recently inaugurated Sonamarg Tunnel in Kashmir, a landmark development that is expected to revolutionize connectivity in the region. The tunnel will provide year-round access to the popular tourist destination of Sonamarg, which has long been subject to seasonal road closures due to snow and adverse weather conditions. This project not only ensures improved connectivity but is also set to boost the local economy by promoting tourism and facilitating faster transportation of goods and services. The opening of the Sonamarg Tunnel is part of a broader vision to enhance the infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, with the region benefiting from a host of developmental initiatives, including newly inaugurated railway divisions and other strategic projects. Sharma assured the public that these projects will bring long-term benefits to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, strengthening the state's position as a key hub in the country's development.
On this occasion, several dignitaries were present, including Ms. Padma Sharma, Headmaster of High School Maira Mandrian, BJP leaders Ramlal, Chanchal Singh, Ashok Purohit, Vishwanath, Kaka Ram, Jagannath Ashok Kumar, Pritam Chand, Sanjeev Singh, Varun Sharma, Rameshwar Sharma, Padam Kumar, Sardari Lal, and other local leaders.
