Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Jan 15: A one-day refresher training program for Part-Time Enumerators (PTEs) of the Sample Registration System (SRS) was organized here in Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
The training programme was inaugurated by District Statistics and Evaluation Officer Darshan Kumar. He stated that the training aimed to enhance the accuracy and reliability of demographic data collection.
The training imparted by Assistant Directors Nimrat Kour and Vijay Kumar from the Directorate of Census Operations, J&K, focused on vital statistics such as birth and death rates, infant mortality rate, and other fertility and mortality indicators critical for informed policy making.
The session included PowerPoint presentations and a live demonstration of the SRS app, offering participants hands-on experience in using the digital tools for efficient data collection.
Enumerators were trained on survey procedures, the use of standardized formats, maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality and effective communication with households.
This training is essential for improving the quality of data under the SRS, which supports policy formulation in sectors like health, education and social welfare.
