BJP wants Azadi for Army to handle Jehadis
4/9/2009 9:53:48 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Apr 9- Asserting that the BJP cannot remain a silent spectator over the ongoing increase in militancy related activities and infiltration of Taliban to disturb the parliamentary elections in the state, BJP State Spokesperson Ramesh Arora has demanded that armed forces should be given free hand and in hilly range Air Force services be also utilized for to fight the challenge more vigorously.
In a statement issued here today Arora alleged that the Congress government has failed to discharge its constitutional obligation to protect the life and property of innocents. ‘We are living in a system which is known as biggest form of democracy. Democracy and militancy cannot go side by side. Democracy can survive only when all rights are enjoyed by all without any fear’, he maintained. He said our neighboring countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan are passing through worst period in the history and their instability will also affect our system of democracy, Arora added in his statement.
He said BJP in state of J&K has lost many leaders like Tika Lal Taploo, Prem Nath Bhat, Santosh Thakur, Swami Ran Katal, Ruchar Kumar, Satish Bhandari and many others. They have laid down their lives to strengthen the unity of state and democratic setup. BJP will not tolerate soft attitude towards militancy, he asserted and alleged that local parties like PDP and NC are two sides of the same coin, one stands for self-rule and other for autonomy. These are anti-national and disintegrative demands and are meant to encourage militancy and separatists tendencies, he said and maintained that BJP always condemned these demands and remained in favour of complete integration with India and abrogation of Article-370.
Arora appealed the people to vote and support dynamic and clean leaders of BJP like Lila Karan Sharma and Dr. Nirmal Singh who are committed to the cause and will not compromise on the basic issues of unity and integrity of the state. BJP will favour and bring amendment to control militancy by making laws like POTA because liberal soft attitude is dangerous policy which will destroy the basic fabric of democratic setup, he added.
