Jammu police held police-public meeting at Miran Sahib

JAMMU, Jan 16: In order to foster trust and cooperation today a Police community partnership group meeting was held at Police Station Miran Sahib. The meeting was chaired by SP Headquarters Jammu Sh. Irshad H.Rather-JKPS & SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Sh.Jaipaul Sharma.
Public from all corners of Miran Sahib area including respectable citizens, DDC Miran Sahib Ms.Vidya Mottan, Ex-Sarpanchs/Panchs, numberdars,chowkidars, traders federations and various market associations attended said meeting.
This event demonstrates the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to engage,bridge the gap with public and address their grievances.The main aim of such programmes is to:-
Foster greater public-police interaction
Enhance transparency and accountability
Promote a sense of safety and security among citizens
During the interaction participants raised various issues of public importance including Drug abuse, traffic jamming,enhanced security for newly functnal Ring road and applauded the unwavering efforts of Jammu Police for curbing anti-social elements.During meeting, locals of the areas demanded concrete steps and proper counselling for youth so that they remain away from drug abuse. Listening to the grievances/suggestions patiently, SP Headquarters assured them that their genuine grievances will be resolved on priority and also he assured them that issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with concerned departments for their early redressal.
While speaking SP Headquarters thanked Public of the area for cooperation and their active participation. He urged youth to remain cautious against online scams,drug abuse and save themselves from anti-social and anti-national activities.
SP Headquarters appealed participants to cooperate with Police in maintaining peace and in making the society drug free.
The public thanked Jammu Police for conducting such a meeting and building a bridge of trust between Police and Public.Public of area requested for regular meetings in future as well.
The meeting concluded with a positive note of thanks and appreciations to Jammu Police for better Policing in the area from Public side.
