JAMMU, Jan 17: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta today asked residents of J&K to take full advantage of the various welfare schemes initiated by the Narendra Modi-led government, with a special emphasis on the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart leader highlighted how the Modi government’s initiatives have been transforming the lives of people in the UT and across the country. He urged the people of the region, particularly those living in rural and remote areas, to benefit from these schemes, which aim to bring empowerment, economic growth, and sustainable development.
“The PM Surya Ghar Bijli Yojana, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a flagship programme designed to provide affordable electricity to households, ensuring that every citizen has access to clean and reliable energy. This scheme will not only improve the quality of life but also help boost economic opportunities, especially for businesses and households that have been deprived of regular power supply”, he said while explaining that this scheme will help people in the region to generate clean energy and save on electricity bills.
“The scheme provides subsidies for installing rooftop solar panels on homes and business establishments”, he added.
While elaborating the benefits of this particular scheme, Gupta maintained that this will ensure access to reliable and cost-effective electricity for all households contributing to a greener and more sustainable future. He said that the scheme promises to provide a stable power supply, reducing dependence on erratic and costly energy sources. He also urged the BJP cadre to go for extensive awareness drives at the grass-root level to convince people to switch over to this beneficial mode of power generation to contain carbon footprint and make the electricity expenses affordable.
He also advocated for numerous other welfare schemes under the Modi government that aim to uplift the lives of common man including initiatives focused on healthcare, education, financial inclusion, and housing. He called on every eligible family to register for these schemes and take full advantage of the opportunities they present.
He appealed to local authorities to assist in the smooth implementation of these schemes and ensure that the benefits reach those who need them the most.
