DBU hosts seven days online faculty development program on technology and innovative delivery models

MANDI GOBINDGARH, Jan 18: Desh Bhagat University, in collaboration with AIU-DBU-AADC, hosted a Seven days Online Faculty Development Program (FDP). The program, attended by 49 participants from Desh Bhagat University and other institutions, focused on enhancing student engagement through technological tools and innovative pedagogical models.
The program commenced with opening remarks from Prof. (Dr.) H.K. Sidhu, AIU-DBU-AADC Coordinator, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the crucial role of technology in modern pedagogy. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, highlighted the significance of such initiatives in improving faculty quality and institutional growth. Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit H. Joshi, Vice Chancellor, underscored the importance of utilizing online tools to boost student engagement and encouraged active participation and exploration of new teaching avenues. Dr. Ranjana Parihiar, Nodal Officer AIU, stressed the need for integrating technology into pedagogy for quality education. Dr. Harmaninderjit Singh Sidhu from Chitkara University delivered an insightful session on enhancing student engagement using various collaborative and adaptive learning tools.
Dr. Sesadeba Pany, Associate Professor at the Central University of Punjab, led a session on innovative pedagogical practices, focusing on context-based learning.The third day featured Prof. (Dr.) Madhu Parihar, Former Director of IGNOU, who discussed online resources for NEP 2020 and its implications.
The final day commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) H.K. Sidhu. The valedictory session saw the Vice Chancellor appreciating AIU-DBU-AADC's efforts in organizing the FDP.
