Cyber Cell Jammu recovers Rs 6.9 lakh lost to online frauds

JAMMU, Jan 18: The Cyber Cell of District Police Jammu has successfully solved multiple online fraud cases, recovering an amount of ?6,90,460 from fraudsters. The unit, renowned for its proactive approach and expertise in handling cybercrimes, demonstrated exceptional efficiency in these cases.
The frauds involved victims being deceived through online trading schemes promoted on Telegram and a fake gaming application named "Aviator." Complainants approached the Cyber Cell after realizing they had been duped, prompting an immediate investigation by the specialized team.
The Cyber Cell, equipped with advanced technology and skilled human resources, acted swiftly to trace the transactions. Through meticulous efforts and professional expertise, the lost funds were recovered in record time, ensuring justice for the victims.
Speaking on the achievement, a representative of the District Police Jammu emphasized their unwavering commitment to combating cybercrime and protecting the public from digital threats. The police also urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with suspicious online schemes or platforms.
