1/18/2025 9:49:58 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 18: In a significant crackdown on land and forest encroachment, the District Administration Jammu has invoked the Public Safety Act (PSA) against Abdul Majeed @ Bittu Teli, a notorious land and forest grabber from Sunjwan, Tehsil Bahu. Majeed, son of Mir Ali, has been involved in several illegal activities, including land grabbing and altering the specifications of land to facilitate encroachments.
The action comes after the Forest Department prepared a comprehensive dossier detailing Majeed's illegal activities, which prompted the District Administration to take swift action. Following the detention order issued by the District Magistrate Jammu, a team from Channi Police Station, led by Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Shariq Bhat and PSI Prince Jasrotia, successfully apprehended the accused.
Majeed, known for his habitual land-grabbing activities, was arrested under the PSA and has been lodged in Amphalla Jail. His arrest is part of the ongoing crackdown on illegal encroachments and land-grabbing activities in the region.
The police have warned of stringent measures against individuals involved in illegal mining, land encroachment, and other unlawful activities, affirming the administration's commitment to maintaining law and order and protecting public lands and forests.
