SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari expressed great relief and hope with the announcement of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement, set to take effect tomorrow. He called it a significant step towards ending the 15-month-long war that has caused immense suffering in Gaza. In a message posted on his X handle, Bukhari stated, "It is with great relief that the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal is set to take effect tomorrow (Sunday). This long-awaited development is expected to end the war that has caused the loss of numerous lives and rendered thousands homeless in Gaza over the past 15 months."
He also highlighted the potential benefits of the ceasefire, including the release of Palestinian prisoners and Israeli hostages, the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and the possibility for thousands of families to return to their homes. Bukhari concluded with a hopeful message, saying, "May this ceasefire lead to lasting peace and enduring stability in the region." |
