| Kapur reviews Darbar Move arrangements | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, APRIL 09 - Chief Secretary Mr. S. S. Kapur today reviewed the arrangements for annual Darbar Move at a meeting here today. He was briefed by different department heads about the steps being taken for smooth shifting of offices to the summer capital. The meeting was attended by Commissioner/Secretary, Finance, Mr. Sudanshu Pandey, Commissioner/Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Mr. Atal Dulloo, Commissioner/Secretary, GAD, Mr. Basharat Ahmed Dhar, Secretary, CAPD, Mr. K. B. Jandial, IG Traffic, Jammu, IG Security, Jammu, Director General, Budget, Director General, State Motor Garages, MD SRTC, MD JKTDC, Director, Estates, representative of 16 Corps, President, Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Union and President, Secretariat Lower Grade Employees Union. Kapur asked the SRTC authorities to make adequate number of buses in good condition available for the employees moving to Srinagar, adding that measures be taken for making available a crane and setting up of mobile workshop along the National Highway to meet any eventuality. SRTC shall open ticket counter within the Secretariat premises to facilitate the employees in purchasing the tickets well before the Move days, he said, adding the SRTC shall make required number of trucks available for carrying official records to Srinagar. In order to avoid delay on National Highway, the Finance Department shall install a counter in the Secretariat for collecting toll tax from the operating buses and trucks and other vehicles carrying Darbar Move employees on the Move days. The meeting was told that the traffic wing shall maintain close coordination with security and police wings for smooth movement of traffic and there would be no movement of army and paramilitary convoy on the National Highway on these days. The traffic authorities shall also ensure that taxi, sumo and tempo operators may not charge unreasonable fare from the employees during the Move days. Besides, Health & Medical Education Department shall make arrangements for an ambulance along with doctors and paramedics with the employees during the Move days. The Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department shall ensure timely issuance of ration cards to move employees at Srinagar so that they may not face any difficulty in getting the ration The Chief Secretary said the Estates Department shall ensure proper accommodation for the employees moving to Srinagar. The Move offices in Jammu will close on April 24 and reopen at Srinagar on May 4.
