One-Day free Bocce Ball Camp inaugurated at May Fair International School, Jammu

Jammu, Jan 18: A one-day free Bocce Ball camp was inaugurated today at May Fair International School, Chinore, Jammu, organized by the REFFA Boules India Federation (RBIF) under the leadership of Mr. Sunny Nanda, General Secretary of the RBIF.
Bocce Ball, a sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), originated in Italy and was first introduced at the 1896 Olympics in Athens, Greece. The camp aimed to promote this historic sport and increase awareness among the youth.
The event was inaugurated by Abhey Basur, Director of May Fair Schools, along with Sunny Nanda and Ms. Neha Gupta, Incharge of May Fair International School. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff, including Jyoti, Renu Thakur,. Ushab, Sudha, Anu, Nisha, and Jetashree.
A highlight of the event was an inter-class competition for students in grades 4th to 8th. The winning players were selected to represent their school at the District-level event scheduled for January 28, 2025, under the RBIF banner.
This event emphasizes the growing interest in Bocce Ball in India and aims to encourage more youth to take up this Olympic sport, furthering its reach and popularity across the nation.
