5th district Doda Taekwondo Championships 2024-25 concludes

Doda, Jan 18: The 5th District Doda Taekwondo Championships 2024-25, organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Doda under the banner of the J&K Taekwondo Association and J&K Sports Council (JKSC), concluded on a high note at the Indoor Sports Hall, Doda. The two-day championship, held from January 17-18, 2025, saw participation from over 150 players representing various schools and clubs across District Doda.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri Harvinder Singh (IAS), who presented medals to the outstanding performers. Shri Sandeep Mehta (SSP Doda), Shri Tariq Qazi (District Social Welfare Officer Doda), and Shri Parvaiz Khandey (SHO Doda) were present as Guests of Honour. Special Guests included Shri Suresh Singh (Observer, JKSC), Shri Suresh Kumar (ZPEO), and Dr. Rohail.
Mr. Junaid Ali Khan (President, Taekwondo Association of District Doda) and Mr. Burhan Ud Din Khan (Secretary, TADD) played a key role in ensuring the successful organization of the event.
In the fiercely contested championship, Shield Taekwondo Academy won the Winner’s Trophy, Falcon Taekwondo Club secured the Runner-up position, and Chenab Sports Academy finished as the Second Runner-up.
The championship’s Referee Panel included renowned officials such as Rakesh Singh, Tajamul Ganie, Shah Faisal Ali, Shivansh Rajput, Danish Singh, Nittin Singh, and Haroon Butt. The participating teams were supported by experienced coaches Mr. Nideem Zargar, Mr. Kashif Iqbal, and Mr. Babar Mujahid. The medalists of the championship earned the opportunity to represent District Doda at the upcoming 27th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships, marking the next step in their sporting journey.
The Taekwondo Association of District Doda extended its heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, referees, coaches, and spectators for their invaluable contributions, ensuring the event’s success.
