Jammu police arrest two drug peddlers, seize 30 grams of heroin-like substance

JAMMU, Jan 19: In a major success under Operation Sanjeevani, the Police Post Nehru Market seized 30.92 grams of a heroin-like substance (Chitta) and arrested two individuals during a naka at Warehouse. The operation aimed at intensifying efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
During routine patrolling, a police team stopped an Alto car (JK18B-4096) and conducted a search, resulting in the discovery of the contraband. The car was driven by Adil Gull, son of Gull Mohammad, and accompanied by Rayees, son of Gh. Nabi Wagay, both residents of Ashijipora, Anantnag. The two were promptly arrested.
A case has been registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, and investigations are ongoing to identify further links and the source of the narcotics. In-charge of Nehru Market PSI Ajesh Jamwal is leading the probe under the supervision of SHO PS Gandhinagar, Insp. Arun Sharma.
Jammu Police continues to maintain a zero-tolerance approach toward drug-related offenses and urges the public to report any suspicious activities to help in the collective fight against the drug menace.
