ADGP Jammu flags off 'Inspiring Kashmir to Kanyakumari' cycle expedition for Pollution-Free India

JAMMU, Jan 19: In a remarkable show of environmental consciousness and national unity, Anand Jain, IPS, ADGP Jammu Zone, officially flagged off a dedicated team of cyclists embarking on an inspiring 4,080-kilometer journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The expedition, launched by Shri Mangal Bhanushali and his four-member team, aims to raise awareness about the importance of a pollution-free India and inspire the nation's youth to adopt sustainable practices.
The journey began on January 16, 2025, from the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar, and after navigating challenging terrains, the team arrived in Jammu this morning. They were warmly greeted with enthusiastic support and a formal send-off ceremony at the Police GO's Mess, Gulshan Ground, Gandhi Nagar.
ADGP Jammu, Shri Anand Jain, interacted with the cyclists during the ceremony, commending their dedication and highlighting the significance of their mission. "This initiative reflects the power of individual action in driving positive change," said Shri Jain. "These cyclists are not only promoting environmental protection but also embodying the spirit of adventure and national unity. We must encourage our youth to engage in such initiatives to help build a cleaner, healthier Bharat."
Message of a Pollution-Free India: The core mission of the expedition is to promote a pollution-free India and encourage sustainable practices. Physical Endurance: The cyclists are undertaking a significant physical challenge, covering a 4,080-kilometer route. Community Outreach: Along their route, the cyclists plan to engage with local communities to spread awareness and foster collective responsibility for environmental conservation.
The Jammu Police ensured the cyclists' safe passage through the region, demonstrating their support for such positive initiatives.
