SRINAGAR, Jan 19: The President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah Sunday expressed anguish over the mysterious illness that has claimed the lives of many in Budhal village of Rajouri.
In a statement released from the party headquarters, Dr. Farooq expressed concern about the situation in Budhal village. However, he commended the timely action of the government, particularly the Chief Minister for reassuring the public that the reasons behind the deaths will be determined.
He praised the health ministry for conducting extensive tests on the ground to uncover the causes of the deaths. Dr. Farooq emphasized the importance of all branches of the administration, both civil and police, working together as directed by the Chief Minister to determine the cause of the deaths. He also acknowledged the efforts of the central government in assisting the local administration in identifying the root cause of the deaths.
Dr. Farooq urged the government to provide additional support to the affected households.
The Party President also extended condolences to the bereaved households during this challenging time, expressing that the party's rank and file stand in solidarity with them in their time of utmost grief. |
