JAMMU, Jan 20: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) witnessed a significant milestone as formal NCC training for cadets commenced on campus. This marked the beginning of a structured and immersive experience aimed at inculcating discipline, leadership, and a spirit of patriotism among the students. As part of the training, cadets had the unique opportunity to experience flying a microlight aircraft. The first cadet to achieve this remarkable feat was Ms. Bhumika Sharma, who flew alongside Wing Commander Nitin Yadav, Commanding Officer of the NCC Squadron. The flight provided the cadets with a first-hand experience of aviation, inspiring many to consider a career in the armed forces. Dr. Varun Dutta, NCC Coordinator at SMVDU, played a pivotal role in coordinating the event and ensuring that the training commenced seamlessly and on schedule. He expressed his gratitude to Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.)Pragati Kumar and Registrar Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, JKAS, for their unwavering support in facilitating NCC activities at the university. The launch of formal NCC training has been met with enthusiasm, with cadets eagerly looking forward to participating in the comprehensive sessions that aim to mold them into future leaders and contributors to society. The NCC training program at SMVDU includes a range of activities, from physical training to leadership development, aimed at nurturing well-rounded individuals. |
