Rising Star Corps organises "Know Your Army Mela"

KATHUA, Jan 20: As a prelude to the 76th Republic Day Celeberations, the Gurj Division of the Rising Star Corps organized the "Know Your Army Mela" at Kathua Stadium on 20th January 2025. The event served as a powerful platform to motivate and integrate youth more closely with the national mainstream.
DC Kathua, District Info Officer (DIO), ASP Kathua, Principal GMC Kathua and No of School Teachers attended the event alongwith 700 Plus Students from Eight different Schools. In addition, the attendees also included 50 wards of Gujjar and Bakarwals, 250 Civilians and 15 ESMs.
Youth attended the event with full fervor and zeal and were enthralled by a series of dynamic martial performances, such as the energetic Kukri dance by Gorkha troops, the traditional Mallakhamb by Maratha soldiers and the spirited Gatka by Sikh warriors. The event offered visitors a unique opportunity to engage with the life and ethos of the Indian Army.
A wide range of military equipment was also on display, including Infantry, Artillery, Armoured vehicles and Surveillance systems to include T-72 tanks, ICV Mk III, Artillery Field Guns, Medium Range and Weapon Locating Radars, Small Arms and newly inducted vehicles. These showcased the Army's advancements in weapon systems, protection and mobility.
The event provided youth with the deeper insight into the Army's equipment, capabilities & traditions and left a lasting impression on the youth. The youths displayed keen interest in joining the armed forces and serving the nation. Almost 500 Students flooded the kiosk to know on schemes to join Indian Army where Information Pamphlets were circulated to the students by the Army.
Civil dignitaries including DC Kathua, ASP Kathua and School Teachers appreciated Rising Star Corps efforts towards motivating the youths and contribution to Nation Building.
