All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha elects new president and general secretary

JAMMU, Jan 20: The All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha successfully concluded its election process today, electing Guldev Raj Bhagat, IAS (Retd.) as the new President, and Som Nath as the new General Secretary.
Guldev Raj Bhagat, son of Lt. Sewa Ram from Channi Himmat, Jammu, was elected unopposed as the President. Som Nath, son of Lt. Thoru Ram from Ward No. 4, Bishnah, was also elected unopposed as the General Secretary.
The election process was transparent and smooth, with both positions being declared unopposed after the nomination withdrawal deadline. A grand function was held at the Sabha's headquarters at Kabir Mandir, Janipur, Jammu, to celebrate the event, with a large gathering of community members and well-wishers in attendance.
The newly elected office bearers were congratulated, and the event also paid tribute to the outgoing President, Faqir Chand Bhagat, Dy' Comm (Retd.), who served for an exceptional 15 years. During his tenure, the Sabha achieved significant milestones, including securing a holiday for Kabir Jayanti, establishing Sant Kabir Chowk, and constructing 30 Kabir Mandirs across J&K.
The newly elected President, Guldev Raj Bhagat, will nominate additional office bearers to complete his team. The Sabha represents the Bhagat/Megh Biradari, with a community of approximately 6 lakh people across J&K. The community has expressed confidence in the newly elected leadership, hoping they will work towards the betterment and upliftment of the weaker sections of society.
