J&K police arrest 2 drug peddlers in Pulwama

SRINAGAR, Jan 20: In a major breakthrough, Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 18.59 kgs of psychotropic substances from their possession in Jammu Kashmir's Pulwama district.
In its continued efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police on specific information about the concealing of narcotic substances at the residential houses of two drug peddlers, conducted raids at Kisrigam Kakapora in south Kashmir's Pulwama district.
A police party during their raids recovered 10.760 Kgs of grinded Charras Powder from the residential house of Bilal Ahmad Dar and 7.830 Kgs of grinded Charras Powder from the house of Irshad Ahmad Mantoo, police said on Monday.
Both the accused have been arrested and accordingly a Case FIR No. 04/2025 and FIR No. 05/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS)Act stands registered in Police Station Kakapora respectively and investigation is set into motion.
Police have urged the general public to come forward in fight against the drug menace and feel free to contact the nearest police station if any drug peddling gets noticed.
