Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 21: Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West, today released the POJK 2025 calendar for the Jammu district wing of POJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti at an event held in Jammu. The calendar features significant photographs depicting the displacement of POJK displaced persons (DPs) during 1947, 1962, and 1965, along with highlighting the Pakistan-occupied territory of Ladakh (POTL) and China-occupied territory of Ladakh (COTL). The initiative aims to educate future generations about the historical struggles and sacrifices of displaced communities while keeping their memories alive.
Addressing the gathering, Sh. Arvind Gupta lauded the efforts of POJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti Jammu in continuously working for the cause of displaced persons. He emphasized that the displacement of communities from POJK remains one of the most tragic chapters in India's history, and it is crucial to ensure that their pain and sacrifices are never forgotten. He reiterated that the release of the POJK 2025 calendar serves as a poignant reminder of the injustices suffered by these families and the need to work towards restoring their rightful place in history. He also commended the dedication of the Samiti in documenting and preserving the narratives of those who were uprooted from their homes and forced to live as refugees in their own country.
Arvind Gupta further stated that the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remains steadfast in its commitment to reclaim POJK, POTL, and COTL. He assured that every effort is being made to secure justice for the displaced populations and to ensure their rehabilitation and empowerment. He highlighted that the Modi government is consistently working towards strengthening India's territorial integrity and will never compromise on its sovereignty. He called upon the younger generation to remain informed about these historical events and support initiatives that uphold the rights of displaced persons.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Rakesh Gupta, Convener of the Jammu District Samiti, Naresh Vohra, Arun Gupta, Kushant Prajapati (Mandal President), Chaman Lal, Karan Sharma, and Sahni, among others. They appreciated the initiative and pledged their continued support for the cause of POJK displaced persons.
The program concluded with a collective resolve to strengthen the movement for justice and the rightful restoration of India's occupied territories.
