Early Times Report LEH, Jan 22: Two Bailey Bridges over the Shyok River near Shatse Taknak in Diskit Sub Division, Leh, have been inaugurated, connecting the Shyok and Nubra Valleys. The inauguration ceremony took place on 22 January 2025 and was jointly conducted by Brigadier VS Salaria, SC, SM, Commander of the Siachen Brigade, and Mr. Tsering Angchuk, Deputy Chairman of LAHDC, Leh. Bridge Details and Construction Length: 50 ft and 100 ft Constructed by: Fire and Fury Corps Engineers The bridges significantly reduce travel distance by approximately 40 kilometers and cut travel time by around two hours for the residents of Nubra and Shyok Valleys. This development is expected to greatly benefit villages such as Charasa, Burma, Kuri, and Murgi. Inauguration Ceremony The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including military officials, Mr. Mukul Beniwal, IAS, SDM Nubra, and community members from the surrounding villages.
