Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 22: LIC employees in Jammu and Kashmir, under the banner of the Northern Zone Insurance Employees' Association, staged a massive demonstration outside LIC offices across the region, led by Comrade Pawan Gupta, Divisional Secretary of the Association. The protest, held at D.O. Cell Jammu, highlighted their long-pending demand for immediate recruitment in LIC. Com. Gupta urged the management and the Government of India to address the staffing shortage, emphasizing that while LIC has achieved significant growth, there has been no recruitment since February 2020. He pointed out the increasing number of retirements and promotions in the Class-3 & 4 workforce, exacerbating the staffing crisis. Gupta stressed the need for recruitment to sustain the company's expansion and ensure continued quality service to its over 40 crore customers. He also called for the recognition of the All India Insurance Employees' Association, which represents nearly 80% of LIC employees. The demonstration was supported by key figures including Com. Rajesh Gupta, Com. Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Com. Raj Kumar, and others, and was organized across various regions by local leaders like Com. R.P. Singh, Surat Singh, and Vikas. The protestors emphasized the crucial role of recruitment to uphold LIC's esteemed reputation and its commitment to customer service. |
