Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 22: The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 16 kicked off with host Amitabh Bachchan making an electrifying entry to celebrate the show's grand 25-year milestone. The episode began with the Fastest Finger First round, where Vinay Gupta from Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, earned his spot on the hot seat, making history as the first contestant from his region to feature on the show.
Vinay shared his son's excitement about his appearance on KBC, revealing that his son had proudly informed his classmates that his father would meet the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. During their conversation, Mr. Bachchan inquired about the most famous cuisine from Jammu and Kashmir, to which Vinay enthusiastically responded with "Rajma Chawal." Bachchan fondly agreed, recalling his own childhood memories of enjoying the dish.
As the game progressed, Mr. Bachchan read out the Rs 10,000 question: "Which of these is a part of the same organ as the retina?" Vinay correctly chose Option D) Pupil, advancing further in the game.
Vinay, a self-proclaimed biggest fan of Amitabh Bachchan, requested the iconic actor to recite his famous dialogue from Zanjeer. Bachchan obliged, taking the audience down memory lane as he recounted his early days in Mumbai and the story behind landing the role in Zanjeer. He shared a humorous and inspiring anecdote about how Salim-Javed noticed him in Bombay to Goa, ultimately leading to his casting in Zanjeer.
In a heartfelt moment, Bachchan reminisced about delivering the iconic Zanjeer dialogue to veteran actor Pran Sahab. He shared his initial discomfort with the bold lines, but after delivering them, he respectfully apologized to Pran Sahab for any potential offense.
The audience erupted in cheers as Mr. Bachchan recited the iconic lines, leading to the next segment, the 'Super Sawaal'. The question asked was, "How many states in India have their entire coastline on the west coast?" Vinay answered correctly with "5" and earned the superpower 'Dugnastraa'.
The show took a nostalgic turn when the makers played a video featuring Anupam Kher and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan congratulating KBC on its 25-year journey and celebrating Amitabh Bachchan's enduring role as the host. They also showcased a clip from the very first episode, highlighting Big B's grand welcome.
Vinay asked about Amitabh Bachchan's family reaction when he decided to work on television. Bachchan candidly shared the initial skepticism from his family, who thought transitioning from big screens to TV was a mistake. However, Bachchan trusted his instincts and went ahead, a decision that paid off as he has been the face of KBC for the past 25 years.
Bachchan further explained how he decided to host the show after visiting the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire set in London. He was impressed by the show's atmosphere and agreed to host KBC if a similar environment could be recreated in India-a promise the production team has upheld over the years.
This episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati celebrated not just its milestone but also the enduring legacy of Amitabh Bachchan as its host. Stay tuned for more updates from this iconic series.
