| Kapoor reviews implementation of KVIB schemes in Leh | | | Leh, SEPTEMBER 22 – Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Mr. S. S. Kapoor who is on 2-day visit of Leh district reviewed the progress of various KVIB schemes being implemented by different departments in the Leh district today. During the meeting, the Executive Officer, KVIB Leh informed that the Board has sponsored 61 cases against a target of 74 involving a project cost of Rs. 328 lakhs to various banks for financing the self-employment units for the unemployed youth during the current financial year under Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP). The scheme was given wide publicity among the local masses. For this, a number of awareness camps, seminars, workshop and a meeting with the bankers were organized wherein the features of various schemes were highlighted. Mr. Kapoor appreciated the efforts of the KVIB for implementing various schemes and stressed the need for reaching out to the deserving to achieve the very purpose of the schemes. He impressed upon the youth to come forward and take benefits of self-financing schemes launched by the Government. He also stressed the need for launching awareness campaigns, highlighting the ingredients of each scheme so that more and more youth take benefit of these schemes, he added. Mr. Kapoor also visited the stalls installed by the KVIB displaying wide ranging products in an exhibition organized by the Press Information Bureau at Leh. The stalls have been installed to motivate the youth and artisans for taking benefits of various self-employment schemes launched by the Board. Local people and tourists are showing keen interest in the products of KVIB. |
