| Lila Karan intensifies campaign, seeks votes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 10- Giving boost to the ongoing election campaigning, Akhnoor Mandal of BJP today took out an impressive rally which passed through all the areas of the assembly constituency. The rally was led by BJP candidate for Jammu-Poonch parliamentary constituency Lila Karan Sharma along with party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma, State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, District President Col. Uttam Singh. Lila Karan Sharma, while addressing public at different places during rally, said that although he had publicly declared not to contest the elections or join any political party but it was the need of the hour to do so in order to fight and protect the interests of Jammu region and raise the issue of discrimination in more effective way. “After days of deep thinking and discussions with the like minded people, I joined BJP as in my opinion it is only BJP which have been raising the issues of Jammu from time to time inside and outside assembly and parliament”. He said Likla Karan Sharma can not join Congress, NC or PDP as these parties are responsible for the step motherly treatment to Jammu in all matters and at all levels. Sharma said that the people get a chance in five years to elect their representative. If they fail to take right decision in voting right candidate, they have to suffer for complete five years. He said instead of regretting for five years, the people should have look on the principles and policies of the party and also the way of working of their nominees. He said that it was the only BJP which extended unconditional support to the land row agitation, no other party has taken such bold decision and it compelled me to join BJP and assured that he will work to the best of his capability to come up to the expectations of the people of Jammu region. He appealed them to display the same unity and vote in favour of BJP so that their voice is raised in parliament. Earlier, Lila Karan and other leaders of the party inaugurated party office in Ahnoor town for the parliamentary election. On this occasion, Jagdish Bhagat, who conteted the recent asembly election on the mandate of f Bharatiya Bahujan Party and Tej Ram, who contested as independent candidate, joined BJP in presence of Lila Karan Sharma.
