Directorate of Agriculture Jammu observes National Voters Day

JAMMU, Jan 25: The Directorate of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Jammu hosted a pledge ceremony today, celebrating National Voter's Day 2025. The ceremony was led by Director Agriculture Jammu, S. Arvinder Singh Reen, and aimed at inspiring citizens, particularly the youth, to exercise their voting rights responsibly.
The event was attended by Joint Director Agriculture Extension/SLUB Satish Sharma, Deputy Director (Central) Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Agriculture Chemist Dr. Aman Jyoti Sharma, Deputy Director (Trainings) Alok Pandotra, Plant Protection Officer Madan Lal, Assistant Director Law Enforcement (ADLE) S. Kuldeep Singh, Mushroom Development Officer Raghubir Paul Kochar, Agriculture Research Engineer Vinay Kumar Bhardwaj, Accounts Officer Shri Vishnu Kant Sharma, Assistant Agrostologist Amit Sharma, Assistant Soil Chemist Jammu Neeraj Rajwal, SMS-DL Koushl Chandel, SMS Shri Santosh Bhat, other senior officers and staff from the Agriculture Department.
Together, the officers and staff of the Directorate reaffirmed their commitment to the democratic process by participating in the solemn pledge, which emphasized the significance of voting as both a fundamental right and a civic duty.
In his address, Director Agriculture S.A.S Reen highlighted the importance of National Voter's Day in reinforcing the democratic fabric of India. He urged the gathering to recognize the power of their votes in shaping the nation's future and to actively participate in elections. The Director particularly emphasized the vital role that young voters play in building a stronger, more progressive democracy. Reflecting on the theme for this year, "Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure," he encouraged every citizen to make their voice heard and ensure their vote counts.
The Director also urged young voters to take responsibility and make informed decisions in every election, emphasizing the critical role each vote plays in the nation's growth and development.
National Voter's Day is celebrated annually on January 25 to commemorate the foundation day of the Election Commission of India in 1950. The day is dedicated to encouraging citizens, especially the youth, to enrol in the voter rolls and actively participate in the electoral process. This celebration fosters the inclusivity and vibrancy of Indian democracy, ensuring that every voice has the power to influence the nation's future.
The ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation, with all attendees proudly reaffirming their commitment to upholding the values of democracy, thus marking the observance of National Voter's Day 2025 as a day of reflection, responsibility, and empowerment.
