| GDC Bishnah celebrates National Voters' Day | | |

BISHNAH, Jan 25: The Electoral Literacy Club and NSS Wing of Government Degree College, Bishnah, commemorated National Voters' Day by organizing a pledge-taking ceremony in the college premises on January 25, 2025. Principal Dr. Shallu Samyal addressed the gathering, emphasizing the crucial role of voting in strengthening democratic institutions.
Following the pledge, a team of students and faculty visited Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Salehar to spread awareness about the importance of voting. The students presented a skit on electoral participation, followed by a quiz conducted by NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Geeta Lakhotra. The quiz saw enthusiastic participation from both students and staff of GHSS Salehar, and prizes were awarded to the winners.
Principal B.K. Pathak of GHSS Salehar acknowledged the initiative and highlighted the significance of voting in a democracy, urging everyone to value their right to vote.
The visit was organized by staff members including Prof. Shrotika Rajput (Convenor of Electoral Literacy Club), Prof. Geeta Lakhotra (NSS PO), Dr. Koushel Kiran (HOD Urdu), Sonika Panjgotra, and Rajinder Kour. A total of 59 students from GDC Bishnah and 120 students from GHSS Salehar participated in the event.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Shrotika Rajput, marking a successful and impactful initiative aimed at promoting electoral awareness among students. |
