Secretary DLSA Ganderbal visits various legal aid clinics/ village legal care

GANDERBAL, Jan 25: Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal, Sheikh Babar Hussain today conducted a thorough visit to various legal aid clinics/village legal care and support centers in District Ganderbal.
The visit was conducted as per the calendar of activities for the month of January, 2025 on the directions of Chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ganderbal and Member Secretary of J&K Legal Services Authority.
It aimed to review the functioning and operation of legal aid clinics/village legal care and support centers and to assess the performance of Front Offices and the effectiveness of Adhikaar Mitras (PLVs) in delivering legal services to the public at large.
During the visit, the Secretary reviewed the performance of Adhikaar Mitras (PLVs), front offices, and the overall functioning of legal aid clinics/village legal care and support centers.
He also inspected their case registers, attendance records, and other related registers in order to assess their overall functioning and effectiveness in delivering legal services to the poor and marginalized sections of society.
Additionally, Secretary interacted with the teaching staff of the concerned schools where the legal aid clinics/village legal care and support centers are functioning and also engaged with the general public and enquired about the functioning of the legal aid clinics and the availability of Adhikaar Mitras (PLVs), and gathered firsthand feedback on the services provided to the marginalized sections of society as per the mandate of legal services authorities act, 1987.
The Secretary DLSA, made general public aware about NALSA's helpline 15100 toll-free and its role in providing legal assistance and encouraged individuals in need of legal help to use the helpline for legal advice, especially in urgent situations and also installed NALSA 15100 help line banners at all legal aid clinics/village legal care and support centers for the benefit of the people of that particular area.
The visit is part of the authority's efforts to ensure that legal services are accessible and effective for the people of District Ganderbal.
