| Samba police foils bovine smuggling bid | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Jan 27: Samba Police successfully thwarted a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued four bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal. The vehicle used for the illegal transportation of the animals was also seized.
Police received reliable information about the smuggling of bovines in a Mahindra Load Carrier with registration number JK21H-6198, traveling from Kootah Hiranagar towards Nichla, Samba. Acting swiftly, a police team led by the SHO of Police Station Ghagwal reached the Nichla area, where they rescued four bovines cruelly tied inside the vehicle, being transported illegally without any valid permissions. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after causing an accident, taking advantage of the darkness.
An FIR (No. 14/2025) under sections 281/223 BNS, 11 PCA has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal, and an investigation is underway. |
