| | | Bhaderwah, Apr 10- Former Minister and Congress candidate from Bhaderwah Early Times Report Constituency Mohammad Sharief Niaz today kick started his election campaign while addressing series of public meetings at Manwa, Diggi, Ghati, Domail, Bhaderwah Town and demanded from the state government increase in the salary of of SPO’s and VDC members from Rs.3,000 to Rs.6,000 per month. He said that SPO’s and VDC members were performing their duties more than a regular police force. He said these SPO’s and VDC member should be absorbed in police force as they were fighting against militancy since long and added that some of them have lost there lives while fighting against the militancy. He also demanded to sanction financial assistance to the kith and kin of those SPO’s and VDC members who lost there life while fighting against the militancy. The Congress candidate also lauded the achievements made by the Congress party under the dynamic leadership of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and said that Congress led government during its just two and a half year period made splendid progress in various sectors. He also expressed his thanks to the Centre for granting liberal financial assistance for the development of the State and said that with these efforts eight new districts were created in the state, University Campus at Bhaderwah, Degree Colleges at several places, ITI centre, Tourism Development authorities, Hospitals, road connectivity and bridges at several places, several Higher Secondary Schools, upgradation of scores of High Schools, Middle Schools, opening of new primary schools and EGS Centres etc. He appealed the people to cast their votes in his favour. Niaz refuted the allegations of BJP for the appeasement policy towards the militants by Congress party at centre, he added that during NDA led by BJP rule in the centre a hard core terrorists Azhar Masood along with his other associates were handed over to the hijackers of IA flight at Kendhar, which were escorted by the than Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh, for which BJP will be answerable to the countrymen. Niaz also expressed grief and shock over the death of Mishra Begum wife of Bashir Ahmed of Gandoh at present Bhaderwah who was killed in a bomb blast at Bhaderwah town today. He demanded grant of Rs five lakh ex-gratia relief to the bereaved family and a Government job to one of his family members
