| Peace must for growth of industry: Dy CM | | |

Jammu, APRIL 10 – Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand on Friday said that industry is the backbone of state’s economy. “Its development throws up employment opportunities besides accelerating economic growth”, he added.
Tara Chand was addressing industrialists and entrepreneurs at a facilitating function organized by the Chamber of Commerce & Industry in his honour.
The Deputy Chief Minister called for frequent interactions between government and industrial bodies for planned expansion and growth of industries in the state. He said industrial potential needs to be fully exploited for giving fillip to the industrial sector.
Tara Chand highlighted the importance of peace and tranquility in the growth of industries, saying the investment in the sector is possible only if the capitalists feel secure about their ventures.
The Deputy Chief Minister termed the demands of the Chamber as genuine and assured to look into them.
The function was attended by prominent industrial captains including the president of the Chamber, Ram Sahai.
