DPS Nagbani hosts 'Rise n Shine' Annual Sports Meet

JAMMU, Feb 1: The campus of Delhi Public School Nagbani was filled with energy and enthusiasm as the school hosted its much-anticipated 'Rise n Shine' Annual Sports Meet. The event was graced by Mr. Athar Amin Zargar, SDM-Marh, as the Chief Guest, whose presence inspired young athletes to push their limits in the spirit of healthy competition.
The games kicked off with a Welcome Song and the release of balloons, setting a lively tone for the day. Mr. R.K. Verma, Principal of the school, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the transformative power of sports in building character, discipline, and teamwork. The event was further energized by the oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to uphold values of integrity and fair play.
The Junior School segment showcased young athletes participating in exciting races like the Sack Race, Spoon Race, and Hula Hoop Race, highlighting their agility, coordination, and sportsmanship. Their enthusiasm and vibrant spirit truly embodied the Rise n Shine theme.
For the Senior School, high-energy competitions took center stage, with skating, basketball, volleyball, football, and badminton matches thrilling the audience. Each match was a testament to the students' skills, teamwork, and perseverance, while the cheers from the crowd fueled the athletes' determination.
The event culminated in the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where outstanding athletes were recognized for their dedication and sportsmanship. Ganga House emerged as the overall winner of the ever-rolling trophy, adding to the excitement of the day.
Bhawna Madaan, Headmistress, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, Principal, teachers, and students for making the event a grand success. Her words of encouragement highlighted the importance of perseverance and teamwork, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
The event concluded with the National Anthem, a powerful moment of unity and pride, bringing together students and staff in a collective celebration of sports and camaraderie. The Annual Sports Meet was conducted under the overall supervision of Ms. Harashita Singh, Activity Coordinator.
