Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 1: Senior BJP leader and MLA West Constituency, Arvind Gupta has welcomed the Union Budget 2025-26 presented by Finance Minister, Dr Nirmala Sitharaman, terming it as a transformative roadmap for "Viksit Bharat@2047." He lauded the budget for its comprehensive approach to inclusive growth, middle-class empowerment, farmer welfare, and youth development, calling it a true reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a prosperous and self-reliant India.
In a press statement issued here today, the senior BJP leader highlighted that the Budget sets the foundation for a developed India by focusing on four key engines of growth-agriculture for rural prosperity, MSMEs for entrepreneurship and job creation, investment for infrastructure and innovation, and exports for global competitiveness. "The six-pronged approach covering taxation, power sector, urban development, financial sector, regulatory reforms, and mining will accelerate economic growth while ensuring social justice and inclusivity," he said.
Arvind particularly praised the Budget for its pro-middle-class reforms, which include doubling the tax deduction limit for senior citizens from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh and raising the tax exemption slab to Rs 12 lakh. "The Modi government has once again demonstrated its commitment to the middle class by reducing tax burdens and increasing disposable income. The increase in TDS limits on rent and remittances will further ease financial constraints on households," he remarked.
The senior BJP leader also appreciated the launch of the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, which aims to enhance agricultural productivity, promote crop diversification, and improve irrigation and storage facilities. "This budget reinforces the government's unwavering commitment to our Annadatas by boosting credit access and launching missions for self-reliance in pulses, cotton, and edible oil production," he said.
Arvind Gupta lauded the government's investment in education, particularly the establishment of 50,000 Atal Tinkering Labs and the expansion of IITs and medical colleges. "This budget is a gift to our youth, ensuring world-class education, AI-driven innovation, and skilling initiatives that will make India a global knowledge hub," he asserted.
