| Mission Shakti celebrates Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative at Pallanwala | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 2: In a monumental celebration, Mission Shakti Sanklap HEW Jammu Social Welfare Department celebrated Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Pallanwala Block Khour.
The event was a resounding testament to the organization's unwavering commitment to empowering girls and fostering gender equality.
In line with its mission to tackle societal taboos, the Mission Shakti distributed sanitary napkins at the school premises among girls. This groundbreaking step aims to eradicate the stigma surrounding menstruation and provide young girls with easy access to essential hygiene products, further empowering them to lead healthy and confident lives.
Adding vibrance to the celebration, students showcased their talents by presenting cultural performances, featuring dance, skits, and poetry recitations. These activities beautifully captured the line -"Empowering Girls for a Bright Future."
The event also recognized and rewarded academic excellence. Meritorious students were honored with essential school supplies, including bags, water bottles, and tiffin boxes as a gesture of encouragement for their hard work and dedication.
The District Mission Coordinator Shagun Manchanda, Principal Sunil Kumar Khajuria, vice principal Jagdev Singh Chib and other officials from Mission Shakti Sankalp HEW and the Staff of the school were present during the event, further adding to its significance.
The programme, organized under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Mamta Rajput and District Mission Coordinator Shagun Manchanda was a shining effort to uplift and empower young girls.
