| Pak national arrested, kidnapped boy rescued | | | Pathankot, Sept 22 A Pakistani national, suspected to be an ISI agent, was arrested and a two-and-half-year-old boy whom he had kidnapped from Jammu was rescued, police said today. The kidnapped boy is the son of a police head constable based at Bari Brahmanan near Jammu in whose house the Pakistani national Khalid Parvez(35) was living as a tenant.
Parvez was arrested with the child on Friday morning from Pathankot Railway station in a joint operation by Punjab police, J-K police and GRP.
The child had been kidnapped recently and the parents of the boy had lodged a complaint with Jammu Police on September 18 stating that the caller had demanded a ransom of Rs 2.50 lakh.
Gurdaspur SSP Paramraj Singh Umranangal said Parvez in his preliminary interrogation confessed that he had come to India on a visa to watch Indo-Pak cricket series about a year ago and had been living in Delhi, Agra, Ludhiana and Bari Brahmanan near Jammu since on concealed identity and had been spying for Pakistan Army. |
