LPU Secures First Runner-Up Trophy at 38th AIU North Zone Youth Festival

JALANDHAR, Feb 6: In the 38th AIU (Association of Indian Universities) North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival, Lovely Professional University (LPU) continued its tradition of excellence by securing the prestigious first runner-up position. The five-day festival, held in Chandigarh, brought together 21 universities from the northern states of Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, and Chandigarh, witnessed intense competition across 27 vibrant categories, including theatre, music, fine arts, literary arts, and dance, with participation from thousands of students.
LPU emerged as the Overall Champion in both the Music Category and Cultural Procession, while securing Runner-Up positions in Literary, Theatre, and Fine Arts categories. The university's exceptional student performances, backed by rigorous practice, led to an impressive tally of 20 honors, including 5 gold medals in categories such as Indian Group Song, Folk Orchestra, Debate, Poster, and Cultural Procession competitions. Additionally, LPU earned 8 silver medals in events including Light Vocal Gazal, Western Group Song, Western Instrument, Classical Dance, Mime, and On Spot Painting. The university also secured 7 bronze medals in Cartooning, Rangoli, Mimicry, One-Act Play, Skit, Quiz, and Elocution.
Congratulating the students, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU stated, "This exceptional achievement not only brought honor to LPU but also enriched the cultural heritage of our nation. LPU will continue to nurture and support the creative and intellectual growth of students, offering them opportunities to shine and lead in every arena. This success exemplifies the power of dedication, and I encourage all the students to keep striving for greatness as they represent LPU and India on national and global stages."
