| Awareness seminar on global environmental degradation organized at Doda | | | Early Times Report
DODA, APRIL 11 (INFO)-A seminar on environment awareness was organized at Government Higher Secondary School (Girls) Doda here today.
Chief Education Officer, Doda, Mr G R Ganai was the chief guest. As many as 45 student speakers participated and expressed their views on increasing environmental degradation, its causes and consequences.
The students highlighted various issues which have led to global phenomenon like green house effect, acid rain, ozone hole, loss of biodiversity etc.
Some students presented dramatic skits depicting the causes of environmental degradation.
A painting competition was also held in the school in which students prepared their paintings describing the global scenario. The paintings were displayed in the school premises.
In the debate competition Miss Sumaya Bhat, Miss Ashfana Banoo and Miss Ifrat Banoo were adjudged as the first, second and third while in the painting competition Miss Renu Thakur, Miss Tasmeya Banoo and Miss Khalida Tabassum were first, second and third winners respectively.
The prizes were distributed by CEO Doda who in his speech lauded the role of school in organizing such vital functions and also asked the students to be practical and contribute their bit in safeguarding the environment.
