| Surveillance on livestock of migratory breeders conducted | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, APRIL 11 (INFO)-With the objective of keeping surveillance on the livestock of the migratory breeders during their on going migration to highland pastures and to check the affect of recent rains if any, on the migratory livestock, the Assistant Project Officer, ISD Migratory Project Jammu/Wardwan on the instructions of Director, Sheep Husbandry Jammu, Dr Yosuf Hassan conducted intensive surveillance tour from Jammu to Verinag (Kashmir) and had on spot inspection of the flocks besides working of the first aid camps set up enroute. The Assistant Project Officer reported that more than 10 flocks from district Samba and 30 flocks from Jagaanu (district Udhampur) are stationed at Sanasar and adjoining areas. Moreover few flocks have been reported to have crossed Sanasar for alpine pastures. He further told that the first aid camps with sufficient quota of medicines are working round the clock to provide first aid including dosing and vaccination to the needy sheep and goats. A team comprising experts of research wing of the department has also visited the area for collection of samples from migratory flocks for its laboratory analysis. The APO issued instructions to the staff to provide the immediate dosing to few flocks against endo-parasites worms in which he observed the symptoms of bottle jaw.
