Training on Non-Communicable Disease prevention conducted for Medical Officers in Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 11: Under the supervision of Director Health services, Jammu Dr. Rakesh Magotra two days Training cum Orientation programme under National Programme for prevention of Non Communicable Disease was held in Directorate of Health Services Jammu on 10th and 11th February 2025. The Training was inaugurated by Deputy Director (Schemes) Health Services Jammu Dr. Poonam Sethi, Deputy Director Dentisry Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Chief Medical Officer Jammu Dr. Harbaksh Singh , Assistant Director HEB Dr. Simmi Verma, Assistant Director Schemes Dr. Ila Gupta, State Epidemiologist /State Nodal officer,NHM Dr. Harjeet Rai. It was organized by Dr. Sushma Mattoo, ZLO and Divisional Nodal Officer NP NCD. The training was attended by more than 110 participants from Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Gangyal, Govt .Hospital Sarwal, SDH Jagti & all districts of Jammu Division. State Epidemiologist/State Nodal officer , NHM Dr. Harjeet Rai asked all participants to start the screening process/follow up from primary level health(AAM) institution so that the tertiary level institution are not overburdened.
Resource persons from World Health Organization Dr. Mudasir Majeed, Consultant J&K , Ladakh, Dr. A. Wassey NCD Consultant Telangana, Dr. Navneet Kishori NCD Consultant Punjab, Dr. Bhavana Langer Associate Professor Department Of Community Medicine & Dr Samita Bhat Consultant Gynae-Oncology , State Cancer Institute J&K deliberated on different Topics ranging from Diabetes, Hypertension, Common Cancers with main focus on breast cancer & cervical cancer . All the participants were enthusiastic about such kind of training and had a very good interactive session. The participants were also trained regarding functioning of NCD Portal so that they adopt more proactive approach in implementing the program.
In the end, Dr. Sushma Mattoo ZLO and Divisional Nodal officer NP NCD requested all participants to further trained Medical officers/MLHPs/ANMs of their respective districts for improving the Screening/diagnosis/ treatment /follow up.
