| NC leadership is puppet of New Delhi: PDP | | | Early Times Report Ganderbal Apr11- Terming National Conference (NC) leadership as puppets in the hands of the Centre, senior Vice President PDP Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari on Saturday lambasted the NC for deceiving people of J&K for the lust of power. "Instead of fulfilling wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, leaders of the successive NC regimes brazenly behaved like puppets in the hands of their political masters at Delhi for lust of the power," Ansari said while addressing a workers convention in Ganderbal. Ansari reminded the gathering that NC government, with two third majority in the assembly at its command, had passed the autonomy resolution but the same was thrown into the dustbin by the then NDA government headed by BJP in which NC was also a coalition partner. "Instead of taking a clear stand on that issue, NC leadership preferred to remain in the NDA for the lust of power," he said and reminded the gathering that NC leader Omar Abdullah was the Union minister in the NDA government which had rejected the autonomy proposal. Ansari said his party has presented the self-rule document and asserted the proposal presented by his party is the workable and viable solution of the Kashmir problem. He said in short span of just three years, PDP has already carved out a path of peace in this region and convinced both India and Pakistan to take some concrete steps for restoring sustainable peace in this sub-continent. The unholy alliance of NC with Congress is responsible for the entire mess in the state. The two political parties for their own vested interests have left people in the lurch," Ansari maintained. PDP leader said that NC was engineering an election boycott in the state by spreading the rumors of infiltration of Taliban in Kashmir. “ Actually they are afraid of people’s verdict and thus are spreading rumors about the Taliban coming to Kashmir so that people choose to desist from voting out of fear psychosis, he said and asked “What was the fun of spreading such rumors when Indian Army was denying media reports about the presence of Taliban militants in the region”. Speaking on the occasion senior PDP leader and former minister Qazi Mohammad Afzal said that an unimpressive governance of Omar Abdullah as the blue eyed appointee of the Centre is responsible for weakening the civil society institutions in the State. Senior PDP leader and former Minister Tariq Hameed Karra, former Chairman Legislative Council Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, senior Leader Abdul Rashid Kabuli and General Secretary Youth wing Bashir Asad also addressed the convention. Karra in his speech said that the present coalition government has failed on all fronts and that NC is trying to hoodwink the people to hide its failures.
