Vi adds baggage protection to International Roaming packs

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 12: Vi, India's leading telecom operator, has enhanced its International Roaming offering by integrating baggage protection services on all its Postpaid International Roaming packs. Through its partnership with Blue Ribbon Bags, a leading US-based lost baggage concierge service, Vi Postpaid customers can now avail compensation of ?19,800 per bag if their luggage is delayed or lost beyond 96 hours of filing a complaint.
For many travellers, lost or delayed baggage is one of the most frustrating and stressful experiences during a trip. A 2024 SITA report found that over 36 million bags were mishandled worldwide, highlighting growing concerns over baggage security. With an increasing number of Indians traveling abroad post-pandemic, having an added layer of baggage protection can provide much-needed relief. The Baggage Protection service by Vi provides customers a safety net in the unfortunate event of lost or delayed baggage, making their travel experience worry-free.
Vi Postpaid customers can activate the baggage protection service while purchasing any International Roaming pack. This optional benefit is available at an additional cost of just Rs 99, and can be activated along with the pack. Customers who choose this benefit can raise a claim request via the Vi App if their baggage is lost or delayed. To avail this service, customers must register with Blue Ribbon Bags before their flight. In case their baggage is delayed or lost by the airline, they must file a report with both the airline and Blue Ribbon Bags within 24 hours of landing. Blue Ribbon Bags will then track and expedite the return of the luggage using its global network and advanced technology. If the baggage is not returned within four days, Blue Ribbon Bags will provide a compensation of ?19,800 per bag (for up to two bags), with no questions asked.
This initiative further strengthens Vi's commitment to offering customer-centric innovations that go beyond connectivity. Vi's International Roaming plans are designed to offer comprehensive benefits, including unlimited data and calls across 29 countries, unlimited incoming calls in over 122 countries, and round-the-clock live agent support via WhatsApp, ensuring customers stay connected without worrying about high roaming charges and accessibility issues.
