Dr. Darakhshan Launches ‘Soun Alamdar’ Video Featuring Verses of Nund Reshi

Srinagar, Feb 12: J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today launched the video Soun Alamdar at a grand event held at Tagore Hall, Srinagar. The video, based on selected verses of revered Sufi saint Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Aalam (Nund Reshi RA), has been sung and directed by renowned musician Aejaz Rah in collaboration with Elfa International.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Darakhshan emphasized the universal appeal of Sufi teachings and the importance of preserving and propagating this rich spiritual legacy. She highlighted the role of digital platforms in spreading the wisdom of Rishis and Peers to the younger generation and global audiences.
“This video album will serve as a bridge connecting our spiritual heritage with modern generations while showcasing the Kalaam of Alamdar to the world,” she stated. Dr. Darakhshan also encouraged youth to visit Sufi shrines to stay connected to Kashmir’s spiritual traditions.
The event was graced by Director News Doordarshan Salman Qazi, eminent writer Dr. Satish Vimal, and Waqf Board member Dr. G.N. Haleem as guests of honor. Noted broadcaster Rasheed Nizami anchored the program, and Dr. Andrabi felicitated Aejaz Rah and his team for their remarkable contribution.
She also spoke to the media about Waqf Board’s ongoing initiatives, stating that numerous projects have been completed and many more are in progress to transform spiritual shrines across J&K.
